International
The international aspects of Women in Europe for a Common Future focuses strongly on policy making and decisions taking. WECF aims at influencing policy-makers through a combination of lobbying, press work, publications, networking and effective project work. The international themes are centred around environmental protection, public participation and gender.
The Aarhus Convention, Bejing +10, the Commission for Sustainable Development and the World Water Forums, to name just a few, are some of the institutions and processes where WECF takes an active part. The organisation is represented in task forces and working groups to further develop instruments and policies for increasing environmental protection and human health.
WECF, for example, is an active member of the European Environment and Health Committee where it represents the environmental NGOs of the European Eco-Forum.
