Delegation of European Commission to Russia will monitor situation human rights activist Nadezhda Kutepova and her NGO "Planet of Hope"

Nadezhda Kutepova, the head of the Ozersk NGO "The Planet of Hope" has just returned from Moscow, where she had a meeting with the representatives of the EC Delegation in Russia to which also a representative of the Swedish EU Presidency took place.
The Delegation of the European Commission to Russia will monitor the situation concerning the human rights activist from Ozersk Nadezhda Kutepova and her NGO "The Planet of Hope". During the two-hour meeting Kutepova informed the EC Delegation about the human right activities of “The Planet of Hope” aiming to protect the rights of people living in the closed cities in Russia; she also talked about people affected by the radioactive contamination in the Chelyabinsk region; as well as her involvement as a representative of the victims of contamination at the European Court of Human Rights.
Furthermore, Kutepova described the increased number of intimidations and threats aimed at her and her activities in the Chelyabinsk region.
The EC Delegation has repeatedly expressed concerns about the problem of protection of human rights activists in Russia, especially following a number of recent attacks on human rights activists.
The EC delegation mentioned that it would monitor further the situation concerning Nadezhda Kutepova and "The Planet of Hope" and asked Ms. Kutepova to regularly send information about the developments.

Надежда Кутепова , руководитель Озерской общественной организации " Планета надежд", только что вернулась из Москвы со встречи с представителями Европейской Комиссии в России, а также Посольства Швеции, председательствующей в настоящее время в Европейском Союзе.
Представительство Европейской Комиссии в России будет наблюдать за ситуацией с озерской правозащитницей Надеждой Кутеповой и общественной организацией " Планета надежд"
В ходе 2х часовой встречи г-жа Кутепова рассказала представителям Еврокомиссии о деятельности "Планеты надежд" по защите прав человека в закрытых городах РФ, о людях, пострадавших от радиоактивного загрязнения в Челябинской области, а также о жалобах, которые направлены ею от лица пострадавших в Европейский суд по правам человека.
Кроме того, г-жа Кутепова рассказала об участившихся акциях запугивания и угрозах в ее адрес, касающихся ее деятельности в Челябинской области.
Представительство Европейской Комиссии неоднократно высказывала озабоченность проблемой защиты правозащитников, которые занимаются отстаиванием прав человека в России, в особенности после участившихся в последнее время случаев нападений на правозащитников.
Представительство Европейской Комиссии сообщило, что оно и дальше будет наблюдать за ситуацией, которая сложилась вокруг общественной организации " Планета надежд" и ее руководителя Надежды Кутеповой, и попросило г-же Кутепову регулярно присылать информацию относительно дальнейшего развития событий.
