WECF conducted trainings on solar collector constructions in the framework of the GTZ/regional programme in Central Asia
In the framework of GTZ/ Regional Programme on Sustainable Use of Natural Resources in Central Asia 9-13 October a training have been successfully conducted in Dushanbe on solar collector construction in particular thermo-siphons

- presentation of theory (10%),
- market research and define solar collector design (20%),
- group work, discussions and exercises (20%) and
- construction work (50%)
Participants gained skills on:
- the materials & instruments and instruments needed for a thermo-siphon
- suitable situation and dimensions of a thermo-siphon for warm water in the house
- construction-methods to make a termo-siphon
- maintainance of a termo-siphon
- telling about the principles of a thermo-siphon.
Two different types of solar collectors have been constructed:
- iron-sheet where iron tubes are welded to a iron sheet
- clip-collector where sink sheets are clipped on copper-tubes
Participants were recommended to practice the construction of solar collectors and
monitor its functioning in order to make real solar collector masters and finally bring the technology on bigger scale via small local businesses.
