WECF works in Chemicals & Health on the ground of three principles (polluter pays, reversal of the burden of proof and the precautionary principle), meaning that,
the one who contamines our environment will pay for the costs and not the general public,
those who produce and process theses chemicals need to proof that they are harmless and not those who bear the damage,
the safety of men and environment is more important than anything else.
WECF raises the awareness of consumers and highlights gaps in current legislation. We work together with other national and international organizations in challenging inadequate and insufficiently implemented legislation at all levels.
