Gleichberechtigung, Umweltrechte und Öffentlichkeitsbeteiligung

WECF setzt voraus, dass das Recht auf eine gesunde Umwelt jedem Menschen von Geburt an zusteht – unabhängig von Gender (das durch die Gesellschaft zugewiesene soziale Geschlecht mit seinen spezifischen Rollenbegrenzungen), Hautfarbe, Rasse, sexueller Orientierung, Abstammung oder Einkommen. Das gilt für Entwicklung, Implementierung und Durchsetzung von Gesetzen zum Schutz der Umwelt. Oft gibt es in Gesellschaften Gruppen, die aufgrund eines dieser Merkmale weniger Durchsetzungskraft als andere haben und die mehr als andere unter Umweltverschmutzung leiden.
